FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: A New Found Freedom, for unsigned Hip Hop recording artist RAtheMC!
Washington, DC (Monday August 22, 2011 )- Last week Hip Hop recording artist RAtheMC made headlines when G.O.V. Records announced that she had joined their new talent roster. Earlier this summer, she shocked fans with her departure from Studio 43, but the news that she had recently inked a deal with G.O.V. Records came as a bigger shock to the Femcee herself. The MTV VMA nominated rapper, attended a brief meeting with the G.O.V CEO a week prior, Nu The Mayor. Although the meeting seemed to be somewhat successful and she later lent her talent to a G.O.V. complication track, RAtheMC never signed a deal with G.O.V. To immediately clarify the situation RAtheMC released a statement via her twitter account. And again I did NOT sign to a new label. I joined new management. I am still an indie artist looking for the right situation.
RAtheMC has been a driving force in the D.M.V.(DC,MD,VA) music scene over the last four years and a pioneer for hipster fashionista female rappers. She is currently working on her sophomore album in which during this creative and semi familiar career changing moment, her first project since her debut mixtape (A Mixtape About Something,) without the backing of her accustomed boutique record labels. The journey for RAtheMC has had a rye of moments from being celebratory, disappointing, and conquering, but RAtheMC seems to be learning and loving every moment of it.
